Press Release Summary: School in Essex chooses virtual servers with Codestone Ltd

Press Release Body: A forward-thinking school has slashed its electricity
consumption with green-thinking computer technology.

Brentwood School in Essex has scrapped 12 of its computer servers in favour of two
virtual servers and VM Ware from Codestone.

Charles Irven, Network Manager at Brentwood, said: "We had got to the point where
the servers were so old that we needed to replace them all.

"We have an environmental responsibility - introducing more and more hardware uses
more power, heat and light so we went for a smarter solution. A virtual server
seemed a good way of cutting our carbon emissions and freeing up storage.

"Codestone was recommended to us by VM Ware and they've done a great job. They were
able to install the system at very short notice with minimal disruption. I hope to
work with Codestone again next summer.

"The new system gives us space to expand as each year's budget allows us to add more
computers to the network."

With 900 computers for more than 1,500 pupils, Brentwood School is already more
equipped than most schools. It also makes the most of electronic registration and
interactive whiteboards.

Codestone, a technology specialist which has offices in Poole and Manchester, is a
VM Ware Enterprise Partner. The firm has also installed SANmelody at Brentwood
School, a storage management product which virtualises data storage.

VM Ware reduces carbon emissions by around three quarters.
